Anastasia Bodagovskaya, born in 1996 in Makhachkala, Russia is a contemporary artist and performer, residing and working in Houston, Texas. She is a trained artist, having graduated (magma cum laude) with her BFA in Studio Art in Painting at the University of Houston. Anastasia a multi faceted artist who specializes in acrylic paintings, bodypainting, live painting, murals, and scenic artistry. Additionally, she is also a performer and infuses all her creative abilities to showcase her diverse range of artistry.

My paintings focus on patterns. Exploring sacred geometry, nature, diverse cultures and infusing elements of the visionary realm in our physical world. My art is a sacred practice and my paintings all stem from sources of inspiration that I allow to guide me. Each painting I create captures the energy and intention I aim to invoke. Symbolism plays a role in my art and for everything I feel called to create has its story. My work is influenced by subject matters that come from my own experiences as well as universal symbolism. The styles I am most drawn too are surrealism, visionary art, Sacred and Islamic geometry, realism, and abstraction.

Art is not just creating a beautiful product, but it is also a meditative practice and lets me access a flow state. I love painting mandalas because it represents balance, harmony and peace. My art is meant to connect with the viewer on a deeper level as human and spiritual beings. I want to create art that allows us to understand how universally connected we all are to everything.

"We often forget that WE ARE NATURE. Nature is not something separate from us," - Andy Goldsworthy

I am just as passionate about bodypainting as well. This form of expression allows me to create art on the human body, bringing it to life. My bodypainting portfolio demonstrates a variety of looks I hand painted on myself or models. The body paint is created in the moment and not always premeditated. I love capturing the essence and energy of whoever I am painting. It creates an intimate and sacred experience that I love sharing with others and myself. The work is visionary and transcendental.
